Praying Through the Psalms
Jun 21, 2026 • Jason Shawa
"Affliction and suffering with Christ in our lives can be a nursery for growth in compassion and encouragement and grace and hope."
Psalm 102 reminds us that God welcomes our honest prayers, even in seasons of depression, anxiety, loneliness, and suffering. The psalmist openly pours out his pain but then makes a crucial shift with two powerful words: "But God." When we move our focus from our circumstances to God's unchanging character, we find hope. Pastor Jason's message challenges us to bring our struggles honestly before the Lord, trusting that He is at work even when we cannot see it. Through persistent, specific, and bold prayer, our suffering can become a place where God grows compassion, grace, and deeper faith within us.
